License activation

The free plugin works immediately, with no limits on dashboards, charts or embeds. Pro is unlocked with a license key — activated once, cached locally, and revalidated daily with a 7-day grace window so outages never break your site.

Step by step

1Install the Glimpse BI Pro plugin alongside the free plugin.
2Go to Glimpse BI → Settings and find the License section.
3Paste your license key from your glimpsebi.com account (or AppSumo redemption).
4Click Activate License.
5Pro features unlock immediately; the license is cached and revalidated automatically each day.
6To move a site, use Deactivate to free the seat, then activate elsewhere.

How activation works

Activation registers your site against your license and caches a short-lived signed token locally. The plugin verifies that token offline for 24 hours and refreshes it with a daily background task — so normal operation never depends on a live network round-trip.

Graceful degradation

If the license server can’t be reached, Pro keeps working for a 7-day grace window. Only after that do Pro features step down (Ask pauses, materialization refreshes pause, Excel export is disabled and Editor roles fall back to administrators only). Your charts always keep rendering — license state never breaks chart display.
